Yogi Adityanath's leadership in the state had "failed," he said.
“Lord Krishna appears in my dreams and tells me that we shall form the government in UP”: Akhilesh Yadav
Samajwadi Party head Akhilesh Yadav stated on Monday that Lord Krishna "regularly appears in his dreams" to declare that the SP will form the government in Uttar Pradesh after the Assembly elections this year, in an apparent jab at the Bharatiya Janata Party.
During a ceremony honoring BJP's Bahraich MLA Madhuri Verma, the former UP chief minister made the assertion.
Mr. Verma, a Kurmi by caste, is a second-term MLA. She also served as a member of the Legislative Council of UP from 2010 to 2012. Yadav said that he is on his way to create a government in Uttar Pradesh after the induction of the incumbent BJP MLA from the Nanpara assembly seat in the Bahraich district.
The SP president said, "The way to Ram Rajya is through the path of Samajwad (socialism). The day 'Samajwad' is established, the “Ram Rajya” will be set up in the state,” the SP president said.
He further alleged that Yogi Adityanath's leadership in the state had "failed."
Mr. Yadav referred to the infamous habit of certain students' guardians in several states, notably UP and Bihar, descending on their test centers to enable their wards resort to unscrupulous means, alluding to a galaxy of BJP officials running the electoral campaign in UP.
Mr. Yadav reacted to the BJP's claim that his party had some criminals and thugs, saying, “It is the allegation of a party which made a man facing several heinous criminal cases the UP chief minister.” "I wonder if the BJP has bought a washing machine to cleanse all its criminals and mafia elements,”
“There were many veteran leaders in the BJP who strengthened the party for years with their blood and sweat. Even they say at times that it was they who sweated it out for the party but don't know where did Adityanath come from and was forced upon them," Mr. Yadav further said.
Yadav was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Azamgarh seat in 2019.
As the Assembly elections near, the BJP and the SP have been locked in a verbal battle. Law and order, the Ram Temple, the Piyush Jain case, mafia raj, and other topics have been a source of contention between the two parties.
