"Outrage Over Disturbing Video: Mamata Banerjee Condemns Brutal Incident in Manipur"

Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, expressed her strong condemnation and sadness over a distressing video from Manipur. The video showed two women being mistreated by a group of men. Mamata Banerjee called this act "barbaric" and said she was heartbroken and outraged after watching it. She stated that there are no words to describe the pain and suffering that the marginalized women endured. The incident is beyond comprehension and goes against humanity.

"CMs from Coalition States to Visit Manipur," says Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, stated that she is in talks with Chief Ministers from states ruled by opposition coalition parties called INDIA. They plan to send a delegation to Manipur, a Northeastern state, in response to the recent violence. Mamata Banerjee expressed solidarity with Manipur and emphasized that all parties stand united for the state.

She also criticized the ruling party, BJP, calling them a "merchant of violence" and urging the central government to focus on uniting communities instead of promoting one-party rule. The situation in Manipur has been tense since May 3, with over 150 people losing their lives and many others injured due to ethnic violence.

The unrest started when a 'Tribal Solidarity March' was held in the hill districts to protest the demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status by the Meitei community, who make up about 53% of Manipur's population and mostly live in the Imphal Valley. The hill districts are predominantly inhabited by tribal communities like Nagas and Kukis, accounting for 40% of the population.

The tension escalated further after a video surfaced on May 4, showing two women being humiliated by a group of men. In the face of this challenging situation, the effort by the CMs of different states to visit Manipur aims to show support and find ways to address the violence and promote unity in the region.
