Twitter has decided to replace its well-known bird logo with an "X" as its new official logo. This change was made following an announcement by Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and now the owner of Twitter. The new "X" logo is already live on the website.

Musk mentioned that "x.com" now redirects to "twitter.com" and referred to the new logo as "interim," suggesting that there might be further logo changes in the future. He also hinted at more transformations for the social network, stating that eventually, they will bid farewell to the Twitter brand and gradually eliminate all bird-related elements.

Musk's fascination with the letter "X" is evident as he has used it in his previous ventures, such as X.com, which later became PayPal, and SpaceX, his space exploration company. His latest AI venture is called X.ai. In fact, earlier this year, Twitter's legal name was changed from Twitter Inc. to X Corp.

This isn't the first time Musk has played with Twitter's logo. Previously, he briefly changed it to the Doge meme. However, the "X" logo represents a more significant shift in the company's vision. Twitter's CEO, Linda Yaccarino, mentioned that the new "X" will expand beyond traditional social networking and will focus on audio, video, messaging, payment/banking, and more, essentially becoming a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities.

Musk has been vocal about his ambition to transform Twitter into an all-encompassing platform, which he refers to as "X, the everything app." With this new logo and vision, Twitter is poised to undergo major changes and redefine its role in the digital landscape.
