Young Archer Aditi Becomes U-18 Compound World Champion
Following her record-breaking performance at the World Cup, Aditi continued her success at the ongoing Youth World Championships. In the final, she defeated Leann with a score of 142-136, securing the gold medal for India. Aditi demonstrated her dominance from the start, taking a five-point lead at the midway point of the contest.
Aditi's victory adds to India's medal tally, which currently stands at eight, including one silver and three bronze medals. Earlier, she had made her senior debut at the World Cup and won a team bronze in Medellin, Colombia. Additionally, Aditi had previously achieved an individual silver medal at the Asia Cup Leg 3 in Sharjah last year.
India's archers are still in contention for more medals, with Priyansh set to face Alijaz Brenk of Slovenia in the U-21 compound men's section, while Avneet Kaur will compete for a bronze against Hallie Boulton of England in the U-21 compound women's section later on Saturday.
