Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s YouTube channel surpassed one crore subscribers on Tuesday, keeping him at the top of the list of top worldwide leaders with the most subscribers on the platform. With 36 lakh subscribers, Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro is second only to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the list of world leaders with the most subscribers on their YouTube channel.

With 30.7 lakh subscribers, Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador isn’t far behind. Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who has 28.8 lakh members, is also on the list of world leaders who have subscribed.

The White House has 19 lakh subscribers, followed by US Vice President Joe Biden with 7.03 lakh subscribers, all on a downtrend. Meanwhile, when compared to other national leaders, PM Modi has the most YouTube subscribers.

On YouTube, Rahul Gandhi has 5.25 lakh subscribers, Shashi Tharoor has 4.39 lakh subscribers, Asaduddin Owaisi of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has 3.73 lakh subscribers, MK Stalin of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has 2.12 lakh subscribers, and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader has 1.37 lakh subscribers.

While he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he started the ‘NarendraModi’ channel in October 2007. His chat with star Akshay Kumar, the Prime Minister’s interaction with members of the Hindi film industry in 2019, and a video on how to prevent the spread of the coronavirus are among the channel’s most popular content.

Besides this channel, the Prime Minister also has an official PMO India channel on YouTube through which various official statements and PM’s addresses to the nation are shared.

The Prime Minister frequently uses social media to make announcements, convey his opinions, send greetings to residents, and engage with other international leaders. His social media success is a result of his expressive speech addresses, dapper style statements, and a fitting demeanor, which he brings to every event he attends.

PM Modi is also active on other social media platforms like Twitter (75.3 million followers) and Facebook (46.8 million followers).
