C-DAC Celebrates 50 years of Vijay Divas
As the country celebrated the 50 years of Vijay Divas, Centre for Development and Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Mohali proudly commemorated the occasion in its own style by holding various sporting and cultural events.
The Centre, known for developing technological solutions for the masses, saw keen participation from employees and students alike. Participants performed various folk dances such as Bhangra, Nati, Gidda while also paying tribute to the armed forces by singing patriotic songs. Cricket, Badminton, Tug of war, marathon and other sports were played with great enthusiasm and spirit.
C-DAC has recently developed Emergency Response Support System (Dial 112), IT-for-Masses and many other IT-Enabled projects for the populace of the country. It has also developed and is providing constant backend support to the National Telemedicine programme: ‘eSanjeevani’.
“eSanjeevani has so far provided more than 1.8 Crore tele-consultations, thereby preventing exposure to Covid”, said Dr PK Khosla, Executive Director of C-DAC, Mohali.
The Chief Guest of the event Sh Prateek Kishore, Director, DRDO-TBRL lauded the achievenets of the centre in the domain of IT and hoped that the patriotic fervour of the day would propel the entire C-DAC fraternity to achieve greater heights. He wished that the centre would continue with its pursuit of designing and developing noble tech. interventions for the benefit of the nation.
