Employees at Apple are being asked to provide proof of receiving a COVID 19 booster

According to a report, Apple staff will be required to produce confirmation of obtaining a COVID-19 booster shot, or they would be subjected to frequent virus testing as part of the iPhone maker's efforts to keep its employees safe.

Throughout the COVID-19 outbreak, Apple has made a point of maintaining social distance and ensuring that as many staff as possible get vaccinated. Apple continues to encourage its employees to be immunised with a booster shot if the opportunity arises, according to an internal memo.

Employees who are eligible for a booster shot have up to four weeks to acquire it and provide documentation, according to an internal memo seen by The Verge. If they do not supply Apple with the information, they will be required to take periodic exams before reporting to work in a store or office starting February 15.

Apple will begin requiring employees who have not shown proof of vaccination or who have not been immunised to do quick antigen tests before reporting to work on January 24th.

"Because of the declining efficacy of the original series of COVID-19 vaccines and the development of highly transmissible variations like Omicron," Apple writes in the message, "a booster shot is now part of staying up to date with your COVID-19 vaccination to guard against severe sickness."

Apple is anticipated to resume in-office work on February 1st, prompting the call for proof. Corporate employees would return to a hybrid work paradigm at campuses and offices for one or two days a week before switching to a three-day strategy, according to the idea.
