In the Kolkata Ulb Polls, the Congress takes 498 of 1,184 seats, while the Bjp takes 437.
In Karnataka's closely contested city native our bodies (ULB) elections, the Congress won 498 out of 1,184 wards in 58 city our bodies, giving it a significant lead over the BJP. The BJP won 437 seats, the JD(S) 45, and independents 204.
After a three-year wait, elections were held in 58 ULBs, 57 GPs, and bypolls in 9 ULB wards across Karnataka on Monday. The majority of ULBs have returned a split decision, and the JD(S) could play kingmaker in as many as a dozen councils.
The BJP's divisive agenda has prompted voters to respond. The BJP tried to deflect attention by focusing on anti-conversion laws, but progressive Kannadigas recognise that such issues are irrelevant.

When looking at the overall results, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai claimed his party did well. He did, however, blame the losses on locations with a large minority population.
"We did better than the last election, but we should have done better this election," he remarked. "If you notice, because these places have a high concentration of minority community voters, we have not had excellent results in the past, but this time, because to our efforts, we have had success in places like Gadag and others."
In Bommai's constituency, the BJP also lost. "We had never won there (in Bankapur), minority votes are 65%, it wouldn't be right for me to say more," he remarked. The same is true for Guttal.... we will continue our development work there as well."
"Recent election results have shown a Congress tsunami in the state," Karnataka Congress party chairman DK Shivakumar remarked.
