The 50 beds at the Commonwealth village facility will be increased up to 500, the order further indicated.

The order has been issued in conformity of guidelines for overseas arrivals published by the Health Ministry and the affiliated hospitals would provide effective surveillance and enough delivery of logistics to the isolation centres, it claimed.

Passengers who are discovered to be symptomatic during screening at the Indira Gandhi International airport will be immediately segregated and sent to a medical institution, according to the Health Ministry.

If they test positive, their contacts will be identified and managed according to established procedures.

Meanwhile, passengers arriving from 'at risk' nations are checked at the airport, and those who test positive have their samples forwarded for genomic testing.

According to the recommendations, such travellers would be managed in separate isolation facilities and treated according to the usual protocol, which includes contact tracking.

According to the health bulletin data this evening, Delhi had a considerable increase in single-day Covid-19 cases, with as many as 1,313 infections.

Since May 26, when 1,491 instances were recorded, this is the largest increase in daily caseload. According to the most recent data, the Omicron tally in the national capital is 263 people.
