MHA to examine PM Modi's security lapse seeks report from the Punjab government

The Punjab administration reported the security violation during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Ferozepur to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

Anirudh Tewari, the Punjab Chief Secretary, delivered a report documenting the circumstances leading up to the security breach. The report was compiled after meeting with state police authorities in charge of the prime minister's protection.

According to sources, more personnel was deployed on the ground as a result of the protests that were taking place across Punjab. Meanwhile, the administration has described the protests as "spontaneous."

A thorough report on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's security lapse was requested by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He called the incident "very unacceptable."

The Ministry of Home Affairs has also formed a three-member committee to look into major security failings during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's January 5 visit to Ferozepur, Punjab.
