Next SAD-BSP govt will ensure msp for vegetables besides re-introducing pre-2004 pension scheme for govt employees – Sukhbir S Badal

Chandigarh, January – Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today assured the party Kisan and Mulazim wings as well as the Mulazim Front that the next SAD-BSP alliance government would not only ensure minimum support price (msp) on vegetables besides ensuring crop insurance cover of Rs 50,000 per acre to farmers, but also re-introduce the pre-2004 pension scheme for government employees and remove all pay commission anomalies.

The SAD President was interacting with the party’s Kisan and Employee wings besides members of the Mulazim Front at a joint meeting held at the party head office here along with Kisan and Employee Front President and former minister Sikandar Singh Maluka.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sukhbir Badal said the SAD was seen to be pro-farmer and pro- employee because it had always taken them together in the path of progress and resolved all their grievances. “SAD led governments under S Parkash Singh Badal were responsible for giving the free power facility to farmers. We have also always removed all Pay Commission anomalies during our tenures in government. Farmers and employees trust us due to this reason. Even now we are committed to fulfilling all the promises made by us”, Mr Badal told the Kisan and Employee wings while telling them to submit their detailed representations so that their demands could be reflected in the party’s election manifesto. “We will do our best for you”, he assured the representatives of both Wings.

Meanwhile while speaking about their demands Mulazam Wing president Isher Singh Manjpur and Mulazam Front President Baaz Singh Khaira also spoke on how the Congress government had betrayed employees by deceiving them about regularization of 36,000 contractual employees. They also demanded that the next SAD-BSP alliance government work to fill up vacant posts in all government departments, regularize computer teachers in the education department, pay full pay grade to Aanganwadi and Midday meal workers, revive all incentives given to employees in the past, revive 52 allowances cancelled in the 6th pay commission and implement 7th pay commission reports for employees of all boards and corporations. They also demanded that all false cases registered against employees should be cancelled.

Mr Badal gave a patient hearing to the wing representatives and assured them that all their demands would be taken up for resolution once the SAD-BSP alliance government was formed in the State. Senior SAD leader Daljit Singh Cheema was also present on the occasion. EOM
