Northern Railway Celebrates Vigilance Awareness Week – 2021
with the Theme Independence India @75: Self reliance with Integrity’
The Vigilance Awareness Week for the year 2021 was launched by Northern Railway at its headquarters, Baroda House, New Delhi on 26.10.2021. The week is observed by all government bodies and seeks to spread awareness about the necessity of probity and uprightness. The theme of the week this year is ‘Independence India @75: Self-reliance with Integrity’. The oath of integrity was administered by Shri Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager Northern Railway to senior officers and a large number of Railway officials.
The first day of the week was graced by the auspicious presence of Shri Suresh N. Patel, Chief Vigilance Commissioner as Chief Guest on this occasion alongwith other personages of the CVC. The inaugural event of enactment of Nukkad Natak on the theme of the week was received with enormous zeal from the onlookers as well as the Chief Vigilance Commissioner, who further appreciated the novelty in ideas expressed in the posters displayed during the exhibition. This was followed by unveiling of Northern Railway Vigilance e-Brochures and concluded by display of short Audio Visual film on PIDPI at Baroda House. The functions were attended by Shri Suneet Sharma, Chairman, Railway Board, Shri R.K. Jha, Principal Executive Director/Vigilance, Shri Ashutosh Gangal, GM/NR alongwith other dignitaries of CVC, Railway Board and Northern Railway. Speaking on this occasion, the Central Vigilance Commissioner congratulated the Railways on their unprecedented contribution by running Oxygen Express trains during the COVID’ 19 pandemic and serving the Indian public during the malady. He also expressed immense pleasure on the good work done and efforts made by Railways in clearance of old pending vigilance cases while adhering to the stipulated timeline.
Subsequently, Chairman, Railway Board and CEO too addressed the Railway officials and enlightened them with their vision.
