Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 23 projects in Uttarakhand today.

According to a PM's office circular, the projects are worth around Rs 17,500 crore.

On December 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttarakhand, which is in the midst of a general election, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 23 projects.

The projects include the Lakhwar Multipurpose Project, the four-laning of the 85-kilometer Moradabad-Kashipur Road, the two-laning of a 22-kilometer stretch of Gadarpur-Dineshpur-Madkota-Haldwani road (SH-5) and an 18-kilometer stretch of Kiccha to Pantnagar (SH-44); the construction of an 8-kilometer Khatima bypass in Udham Singh Nagar; and the construction of (NH109D).

The Lakhwar Multipurpose Project aims to provide Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan with irrigation, hydropower, and drinking water.

The road widening projects will increase access to isolated locations while also boosting business activity in the surrounding areas.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the AIIMS satellite center in Rishikesh.

Assaulting the Opposition over "vote bank legislative issues", Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday said in a survey bound Uttarakhand that the BJP brings conspires that is to bring about some benefit for the country, rather than any local area.

He was introducing and establishing framework stones for improvement projects worth Rs 18,000 crore at Dehradun's Parade ground, only months before Uttarakhand goes to the surveys.
