Marnus Labuschagne of Australia has made headlines in cricket because of his consistent performances, particularly in Test matches. While leaving the balls outside off-stump, his gestures are occasionally similar to those of his teammate Steve Smith, which has become a trademark for both of these batters. But, as Labuschagne demonstrated on the first day of the last Ashes Test match in Hobart, things don’t always go your way. For his 44 runs, the right-hander batted brilliantly, but his removal just before noon was a moment he’d like to forget.
After England shocked Australia with three early wickets in the first session, Labuschagne and Travis Head formed a great attacking partnership that pulled Australia out of trouble.
Labuschagne got himself into an awkward tangle while attempting to navigate the ball, and he tumbled down, the ball hitting the stumps. As Marnus rose from the ground and made his way towards the pavilion, the entire English team, as well as the audience, burst out laughing.
