Olivia Culpo, the former Miss Universe, was told she couldn't board an American Airlines flight without covering up on Thursday, according to her sister Aurora Culpo.

Olivia, her boyfriend Christian McCaffrey, and her sister Aurora were getting ready to board a trip to Cabo, Mexico, when Aurora was summoned to the American Airlines desk and instructed to "put on a blouse," according to Aurora's Instagram storey.

Aurora, 31, pans over in the first storey piece to see Olivia's attire, which she later revealed to be a matched black athleisure set from Naked Cashmere, and she says she looks "pretty" and "suitable."

Aurora stated, "Olivia and I are going to Cabo and looking at her clothes." "They summon her to the desk and inform her that she must put on a blouse or she will be denied boarding."

American Airlines did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Insider, but the company's website does include a phrase regarding a dress code among a list of guidelines that it claims customers must follow for safety reasons.

American Airlines advises passengers to "dress correctly; bare feet or inappropriate apparel are not permitted." "Violent or unacceptable behaviour may result in boarding rejection, removal from the terminal, or legal action."
