Last year, Priyanka Chopra said she was "irritated" by comments made by an Australian journalist who questioned her contribution to movies and her role in announcing Oscar nominees. An Australian entertainment journalist wondered why the 39-year-old actress and her musician-husband Nick Jonas were tapped to announce the 93rd Academy Awards nominees in March of last year.

Priyanka later responded to the journalist's tweet with a video showing over 60 acting credits from her nearly two-decade-long career, including "Mary Kom," "7 Khoon Maaf," "Bajirao Mastani," her international debut with the ABC series "Quantico," and her Hollywood film debut with "Baywatch."

She went on to say that she normally confides in her family when she is depressed and that she is unaffected by other people's comments. "I'll be enraged, angry, and irritated." I'll tell my family about it. I may cry a little, but it has no bearing on my relationship with my work or the nature of my goal. It is not the opinions of others that I seek. My job is to go on a quest. My goal is to ensure that when someone sees what I've created, it moves them or that they appreciate it. "My personal life, who I am, none of that is my business," she explained.
