Dawn FM, the first album released in 2022 to top the Official Albums Chart, has sold over 20,000 copies this week – with no physical form of the record available, streams account for 94 percent of its weekly total. Dawn FM joins the ranks of previous chart-topping singles Beauty Behind The Madness (2015) and After Hours (2016). (2020). The Weeknd’s greatest hits package for 2021 is out now.
The Weeknd released Dawn FM last Friday, which features artists like Tyler The Creator, Lil Wayne, Quincy Jones and even Jim Carrey.
Despite not releasing any physical product for the album, The Weeknd’s fifth studio album doubles the chart sales of its closest competition, Ed Sheeran’s Equals. Thanks to Dawn FM’s release this week, The Weeknd’s 2021 compilation The Highlights climbs seven places to Number 9.
