Last week, legendary vocalist Lata Mangeshkar was taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Breach Candy hospital in south Mumbai after testing positive for coronavirus with mild symptoms.

The health of iconic singer Lata Mangeshkar, who is still in a Mumbai hospital’s intensive care unit, is improving, according to Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope. Last week, the 92-year-old singer was hospitalized to the Breach Candy hospital in south Mumbai’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after testing positive for the coronavirus with moderate symptoms.

“Lata Mangeshkar’s health is getting better. I spoke with officials from the Breach Candy hospital, who gave me an update on her condition. “I urged them that the hospital’s spokesperson should offer updates on the singer’s status because people are curious about her health,” Tope told Jalna reporters.

Tope added that after speaking with her family members, the Breach Candy Hospital will be able to provide an update on the veteran singer’s condition.

Dr. Pratit Samdani, an assistant professor at the Breach Candy Hospital, informed PTI earlier in the day that Lata Mangeshkar is still in the ICU and being treated.

Rachana Shah, Lata Mangeshkar’s niece, stated on Thursday that the singer is doing well and that the media should respect the family’s privacy.

Mangeshkar, who began her career at the age of 13 in 1942 and has over 30,000 songs to her credit in many Indian languages, is regarded as one of Indian cinema’s best singers.
