Cyber Crime Investigation Cell, Chandigarh of Chandigarh Police has achieved a major success in arrest of two accused from Delhi NCR. For this SP CCIC formed a special team of CCIC under the supervision of DSP/CCIC headed by Incharge/CCIC, in Case FIR No 68 dated 06.12.2021 U/s 419,420, 120B IPC PS 19, Chandigarh, to apprehend the criminals involved in online cheating.
The brief of the case are that CCIC had received the complaint of a lady from Sector-21, Chandigarh in which she mentioned that Richard met her on instagram and during their chat he said that his birthday is coming after few days and their family send gifts to his friends on this special day and they will send gift to her also and he sent message that he has sent 10000 pounds also with gift because your Diwali festival is also coming. After that received call from courier company and caller asked her that Richard from England call sent parcel for you and she has to deposit Rs.40000/- in their account and she transferred the same amount in said account but she didn’t received any parcel and she called on that number and replied received that there is very expensive items in parcel she has to deposit more amount for custom clearance, police clearance, finance department clearance and after that she sent message to Richard on his whatsapp number and he replied that pay the amount because expensive goods (Gold sets) in parcel and he sent photos of gold sets on whatsapp and she transferred the amount 1331700/- in their account.
During the course of investigation accused (1) Satvinder Singh S/o Kulwant Singh, H.no 37-C, Top Floor, Kh. No. 42/1 Vikas Puri Extn., Chander Vihar, Near Nangloi, Delhi, Age 33 years. (2) Odoeke Fransic Ifeanyi (Nigerian) S/o Odoeke, H.no WZ-36, St No. 16, Krishna Puri, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi, Age 37 Years. on 17.01.22 Mobile phones, Laptops, Debit Cards containing the data related to cheating have been recovered from their possession. Accused were produced in court today and accused Satvinder Pal singh has been sent in judicial custody and 04 days police remand of accused Odoeke Fransic Ifeanyi (Nigerian) has been obtained till 20th January.
