Arvind Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi Party chief, stated on Sunday that his party has knowledge that the Enforcement Directorate is going to arrest Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain ahead of the 2022 Punjab Assembly Elections.
Kejriwal said, "We got the information from our sources that in the coming few days, before the Punjab election, the ED is coming to arrest Satyendar Jain. Centre had raided Jain twice before and found nothing. Now if they want to come again, they are welcome. Because it is the election season and when the BJP sees it is losing, they deploy all central agencies. So it is evident that there will be raids, arrests will be made."

"अगर भाजपा को लगता है कि हम भी चन्नी जी की तरह डर जायेंगे तो वो गलत हैं। मैं चुनौती देता हूँ भाजपा को कि वह ED के साथ-साथ CBI, Income Tax सबको भेज दें, हम किसी से नहीं डरते!
"We are not scared because we are on the path of the truth and these obstacles are bound to come. Please send all other agencies like income tax, CBI, Delhi Police, etc. We have all been raided before. 21 MLAs have been arrested in past. In this case, too, maximum Satyendar Jain will be arrested and then will get bail in a few days. We are not scared to be arrested," Kejriwal further said.
Moreover, he said, "But we won't whine like Charanjit Singh Channi because we have not done anything wrong. Channiji is distraught because he has something to hide. People now know what he has done in 111 days. We don't have anything like that. All central agencies are welcome to not only Satyendar Jain's place but also at my place, Manish Sisodia's place and you can also raid Bhagwant Mann."
The ED raided chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi's nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey's house in the run-up to the Punjab elections in connection with an old sand mining issue. The Centre, according to Channi, is abusing the central agencies to threaten him.
Jain was on the ED's radar in 2017-18 a part of a money-laundering investigation. The CBI filed the case, alleging that Jain was unable to explain the source of monies received by four companies in which he had a stake. Prayas Info Solutions, Akinchan Developers, Managalyatan Projects, and Indo-Metal Impex Pvt Limited were among the four companies. One-third of these companies' shares were allegedly held by Jain and his wife.
During the searches, the ED discovered various sensitive documents, mobile phones, over Rs.10 crore in cash, gold worth over Rs.21 lakh, and a Rolex watch for Rs.12 lakh. In a surprise search by Punjab government officers in March 2018, illicit mining activities were discovered in Malikpur, Burjtahl Das, Barsal, Lalewal, Mandala, and Khosa, prompting the filing of a FIR.
In response, Channi claimed, "I have the FIR of the year 2018 in the illegal sand mining case, but there is no name of my nephew, he was unnecessarily detained. He was detained with the intention that he will take my name. They tortured him to take my name."
Kejriwal slammed Channi, saying, "Channi is not an ordinary person, but a dishonest man." In retaliation, Channi said that he will bring a defamation suit against Kejriwal, citing the AAP's continuous linkage of him to the ED raids on his nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey as a source of offense. The Congress, AAP, BJP-Amarinder, and Akali Dal-BSP will compete in a four-way election in Punjab.
