On Sunday, a full-dress parade rehearsal was held at Rajpath in New Delhi ahead of Republic Day. The rehearsal began at Vijay Chowk and proceeded towards Red Fort in preparation for the procession on January 26. This year's Republic Day parade has just 12 tableaux of selected states and union territories, as well as nine ministries, out of a total of 21.
This year, a total of contingents from the three wings of the Army and central paramilitary forces will march past in front of all dignitaries at Rajpath, including the President, Prime Minister, and Defence Minister.

Players from Haryana's selected sports, including boxing, weightlifting, shooting, discus throw, and hockey, have been represented in high relief on both sides.
The topic for Karnataka's tableau in this year's parade is "Karnataka, the cradle of traditional handicrafts." Moreover, the slaughter of 1,200 tribal independence fighters in the Sabarkantha district by the British would be depicted in Gujarat's tableau at the Republic Day celebration in Delhi.
The march at Rajpath will begin with PT-76 and Centurion tanks, which fought the Pakistan Army in the 1971 war. The museum has especially requested these historic tanks for the parade because they are no longer part of the Army's fighting force. The country recently commemorated the War of 71's 'Golden Victory Year.'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared earlier this week that Republic Day celebrations will begin a day early, on January 23, to coincide with the late independence warrior Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's birth anniversary. The festivities usually start on January 24th.
