January 25th, Mohali: The nomination process for the Punjab Assembly elections began on Tuesday with the issuance of a notification on nominations. Dr. S Karuna Raju, Punjab’s Chief Electoral Officer, said that according to data from the encore software, only 12 nominations had been filed in Punjab as of 6 p.m. on the first day.
Dr. S Karuna Raju, Punjab’s Chief Electoral Officer, had previously stated that the submission of nomination papers for the next elections will begin on January 25 (Tuesday) with the release of notification and would continue until February 1. The nomination will be reviewed on February 2nd, with the deadline for withdrawal of candidature being February 4th.
From January 25 to February 1, nominations for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections will be accepted in the offices of respective returning officers from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nomination papers must be submitted in FORM 2B. Nomination papers in typed format will be accepted if they follow the approved format.
