Answers:
1) Pakistan - The Pakistan Government has confirmed the purchase of at least 25 Chinese J-10C fighter jets for the Pakistan Air Force. Pakistan claims these jets as an alternative to France’s Rafale fighter jets owned by India. Pakistan also has a fleet of US-made F-16s jets.
2) Vinay Kumar Tripathi - Career railway officer VK Tripathi has been appointed as chairman and CEO of the Railway Board, replacing Suneet Sharma. The Indian Railways has appointed VK Tripathi as chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Railway Board.
3) Maharashtra - Mumbai is set to host the first Water-Taxi Service in the country. The service is expected to be formally launched in January by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
The project is a joint initiative of Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT), City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) and Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB).
4) Max Verstappen - Max Verstappen won his first World Championship (and the first for a Dutch driver), driving for Red Bull Racing-Honda. Lewis Hamilton, the defending champion, finished runner-up, driving for Mercedes.
5) April 21 - India’s 1st Home Minster Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel addressed the appointed Administrative Services Officers on April 21, 1947. In commemoration of this event, the Government of India observed every April 21st as National Civil Services Day.
