The Delhi Commission for Women claimed today that an alleged rape survivor was paraded by her neighbours in Delhi and assaulted amid cheers, her hair shaved and her face blackened. After the video went viral, four ladies were detained. 

Swati Maliwal, the chief of the Delhi Commission for Women, who met with the victim, stated in a tweet that she has requested action from the Delhi Police and further arrests.

"In Kasturba Nagar, a 20-year-old girl was gang-raped by unlicensed booze salesmen. Her head was tonsured and she had black paint applied to her face before being paraded around the streets wearing a garland of shoes. I'm sending a notice to the Delhi Police Department. All of the implicated men and women should be detained, and the girl and her family should be provided with protection "While posting the video, Ms Maliwal stated.

"Ms Maliwal met the survivor, who told her that she was kidnapped from her house and gang raped by three men involved in the illegal booze and drug trade in the area. The women present instigated the males to rape her as they were gang rapping her. She went on to say that they viciously beat her up, shaved her head, blackened her face, and forced her to walk around the neighbourhood wearing a garland of slippers and shoes "In a press release, the women's panel stated. 

The Commission has also requested information about any past complaints filed against the accused, particularly those involving their involvement in illegal liquor and narcotics trafficking.
