1) 13 - She began her career in the year 1942 at the age of 13. In a career spanning over seven decades, the melody queen recorded songs for over a thousand Hindi films.

2)  Indore - Mangeshkar was born in a Maharashtrian Brahmin family in 1929, the eldest daughter of Deenanath Mangeshkar, a Marathi and Konkani musician, and his wife Shevanti in Indore.

3) Royal Albert Hall, London - Lata Mangeshkar, known as the Nightingale of India, holds the distinction of being the first Indian artist ever to perform live at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall. 

4) 2001 - In her lifetime, the veteran star was honoured by several prestigious awards including the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, the Padma Bhushan, the Padma Vibhushan and several Filmfare and National Film Awards.

5) Wada na Tod - In 2004, two songs sung by Lata Mangeshkar featured in Hollywood classic Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, starring Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet.
