Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW), a global technology and software services provider, is establishing a technology and innovation R&D centre in Hyderabad.

The facility, which will be headquartered at two locations in Hi-tech City, Hyderabad’s chosen destination for technology and new generation businesses, will complement the company’s focus on automotive engineering and digital enterprise.

By 2025, the company expects to hire up to 3,000 professionals for its Hyderabad office. It will also be looking for new talent in the fields of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, and Instrumentation from universities and colleges.

The announcement, which officials claim is a soft launch, comes as BGSW prepares to expand its footprint in India to Hyderabad in 2022. BGSW is Bosch’s largest software and technology centre outside of Germany, with headquarters in Bengaluru and operations in Coimbatore. It is a global hub for software catering to customers and partners across geographies and industries, the company said in a release on February 10. It has delivery and sales networks in several global locations, including India, Mexico, Vietnam, North America, Japan, Germany, and the Middle East.

On February 8, Bosch executives met virtually with Telangana Minister of Industries and Information Technology K.T. Rama Rao, after which the latter tweeted. “Bosch in Hyderabad!” exclaims the narrator. With its Bosch Global Software Technologies and R&D presence in Hyderabad, Bosch, a German MNC and a world leader in mobility, industrial engineering, and home appliances, has chosen Hyderabad as a key location.”

Bosch plans to use Hyderabad’s dynamic software ecosystem to gain access to world-class talent, develop expertise and centres of excellence in new emerging technologies, and strengthen its global delivery network by leveraging local leadership.

CoEs working on the application of electronics and computation to domain challenges such as autonomous driving, vehicle computing, gateways, V2X connection, electrification, and safety will be housed in our new Hyderabad centre. Dattatri Salagame, CEO, President, and MD, indicated that similar potential exist in other fields such as healthcare, energy, and others.

Hyderabad’s Vice-President and Center Head “Our goal in Hyderabad is to establish and deliver worldwide programmers in new-age automotive and digital technologies, including traditional Powertrain, Active and Passive safety, e-Mobility, and cross-domain computing solutions,” Kiran Sundara Raman stated. We want to take advantage of the talent market and develop a worldwide talent pool in cloud, AIoT/ML, cyber, and embedded security technologies.
