Various private school associations of Haryana have united in protest against getting the board examination of class VIII imposed in the state by the Haryana Government. Representatives of private schools believe that this Tughlaqi decree of the government is not acceptable to the school management as well as the students and their parents. Associations of private schools across the state - Haryana Progressive Schools Conference (SPSC), Haryana United Schools Association (HUSA), Haryana Private Schools Association (HPSA), Karnal Independent Schools Association (KISA) and the representatives of the Recognized Aided Private Schools Association (RUPSA) protested against this order of the government and clarified their position during a press conference organized at Chandigarh Press Club on Wednesday.

Addressing the press conference, HPSC Vice-President Suresh Chandra said that the government's decree was completely against the rules, regarding which when private schools approached the court, the government withdrew this order under Right to Education Act in 2022, amended on January 17.

Suresh Chandra said that he is not in the favor to put mental burden on the students due to financial and examination pressure during this recession. The Board of Education, which is facing financial crisis, is putting a financial burden on the schools and parents by constituting the board examination of class VIII. By fixing a fee of five thousand rupees in the name of registration per school, one hundred rupees on enrollment and 550 rupees for examination fee per student, the board has made it a means of earning money, which is not acceptable to the schools and parents at all. There are about two thousand private schools in the state, which earns about one crore rupees at the rate of five thousand per school, whereas in the state the amount of Rs 550 per student recovered from the students of about four and a half lakh becomes about twenty five crore rupees. .

He said that the age-old tradition in the schools belonging to other education boards, which is being implemented according to the rules and orders of the concerned board, then why is the government and the board tinkering with them.

Surrounding the government, Suresh Chandra alleged that in fact the Haryana School Education Board has done the work of selling the education certificate completely during the Corona period and by applying the formula giving five times the marks in the assessment (internal assessment done by the schools) about sixty thousand. Children have been praised by giving excellent marks.

Referring to the statement issued by Haryana Education Minister Kanwarpal Gujjar in the past, in which a determination was taken not to take the board examinations of class V and VIII in Haryana, Suresh Chandra said that if the board is facing the crunch of decreasing revenue, then students of class VIII should not be made their victims by flouting the rule of Right to Education and doing their own arbitrariness, but should find other options which are in the interest of the board as well as the schools, students and their parents.

On this occasion, HNSA State President Rampal Yadav, Senior Vice President Ranbir Singh, HPSA President Vijender Mann, Karnal Independent School Association President RS Virk, Secretary Kuljinder Mohan Bath, Rajan Lamba, Vikram Chaudhary, RUPSA President Jitendra Ahlawat, etc. also expressed their views on this.
