On the occasion of the 645th birth anniversary of Sant Guru Ravidas, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Gian Chand Gupta expressed his best wishes to the country and the people of the state, saying that Sant Ravidas ji had given the message of brotherhood, harmony, sacrifice, and karma years ago. It is still relevant today. He once claimed that a person’s greatness is determined by his actions, not by his birth.
Shri Gian Chand Gupta appeared as the chief guest at a programme held today in the village of Bataud in Barwala. Kulbhushan Goyal, Mayor of the Municipal Corporation, was also present at the event.
On the occasion, Shri Gupta installed the idol of Sant Guru Ravidas ji in Guru Ravidas temple. He offered flower tributes to Guru Ravidas ji’s idol in the temple, as well as offerings during the Havan Yagya that was held there.
Shri Gupta said that after examining the technical feasibility of the old building of Dharamshala of the society located in the village, a massive community centre will be created in its place. He said that lack of funds would not be allowed to come in the way of development.
Shri Gupta added that today is Sant Guru Ravidas ji’s birth anniversary, which is being commemorated with great zeal across India. Sant Ravidas, according to Shri Gupta, spoke out against untouchability in society and taught a message of love, brotherhood, and harmony.
Sant Ravidas, he said, is loved by all sections of society. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has sent out a message encouraging people to spread the words of saints not just in India but around the world, so that the younger generation might follow in the footsteps of saints and contribute significantly to the new creation of their society and country.
In the last 7 years, special emphasis has been paid to energy, water, roads, education, and health
Shri Gupta stated that in the last seven years, a special focus has been placed on delivering five essential services to the people of the district: electricity, water, roads, education, and health. He stated that the Chief Minister, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar has stated that there is no shortage of development funds. Each village has received development works worth Rs. 5 crore to Rs. 20 crore, according to Shri Gupta. The paperwork for the Panchkula – Yamunanagar road had been pending since 2005, but after he became MLA in 2014, he worked hard to have it cleared and the route’s construction completed. Due to the construction of this road, the distance from Barwala to Yamunanagar has remained only one hour.
The Bataud village school was upgraded from class X to XII
According to Shri Gupta, the Bataud village school was not only upgraded from class X to X, but it was also transformed into an English medium school. In addition to Bataud, children from other areas attend this school to receive education. The Bataud school is one of five schools in the district that has been upgraded from class X to XII.
He stated that a plan for a 50-bed hospital has been submitted to the government for approval in order to provide necessary health services to the residents of Bataud. He stated that in Sector-6 Civil Hospital, advanced health facilities similar to those offered by PGI are now available.
