Tottenham Hotspur beat Manchester City 3-2 away in a thrilling match on Saturday, with Harry Kane scoring a last-minute winner to put an end to their poor Premier League form.

Tottenham Hotspur headed into an away encounter against Manchester City, the probable Premier League champions who hadn’t lost a game since October.

Dejan Kulusevski of Tottenham Hotspur scored his first goal for the club inside five minutes at the Etihad Stadium, but City’s Ilkay Gundogan equalized on 33 minutes.

Spurs took the lead again through Kane just before the hour mark, when he guided a whipping cross from Son Heung-min into the far top corner, and the England striker seemed to have scored a second goal minutes later, but the attempt was ruled out for offside.

Manchester city pushed for an equalizer and appeared to have done so when Cristian Romero was penalized for a handball in the box, resulting in a stoppage-time penalty for City. Spurs took the lead for the third time when Kane scored to secure all three points. Riyad Mahrez stepped up and converted the penalty, but Spurs took the lead for the third time shortly afterward.

Spurs had lost their last three Premier League matches prior to Saturday’s close triumph over Man City, who are six points ahead of second-place Liverpool.

“We kind of thought we’d rescued it. If you look at the whole game we deserved to win. But football is sometimes crazy and today we made easy mistakes,” Man City’s Gundogan said.

Spurs have moved up to seventh place, four points behind fourth-place Manchester United, with two games remaining in their Champions League qualifying campaign.
