France plays an important role in the growth of India's military-industrial complex since it is eager to share and develop technologies with no strings attached.

External affairs minister Jaishankar gave a speech at the French Institute of International Relations on 'How India Sees France' on the day three French Rafale warplanes landed in India.

"Today, the globe is in the middle of many crises, one of which is in Europe. It is taking place in the midst of significant geopolitical, geoeconomic, and technical shifts. The pandemic's widespread disruption has heightened, if not expedited, these patterns. These innovations, taken together, have posed fresh challenges to the international order. "We don't have the familiar comforts anymore," Jaishankar remarked.

"As a result, every country is rethinking its goals, policies, partnerships, and even strategic geography." Every day, we struggle to adapt to the rapidly changing surroundings. Long-held beliefs must frequently be challenged," he noted.

According to Jaishankar, India has reshaped many worldwide partnerships in the previous two decades, but its ties with France span numerous generations. Despite the turmoil of our times, India's connections with France have remained strong and straightforward. "It's a partnership that hasn't seen any of the abrupt shifts and surprises that we've seen in other cases." Indeed, these linkages have adapted to change over time and emerged stronger as a result," he said.

"I'm also delighted to give my ideas on India's perception of France." It's very fitting that I'm doing so after a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Le Drian and Defense Minister Parly, as well as the Indo Pacific Ministerial Forum, for which I've come here. These events encapsulated the strategic priorities that serve as a compelling framework for what he believes is a really unique connection between India and France," he said.

France has delivered the whole consignment of 36 fighters, with the last one being handed over to India in France, with the delivery of the three aircraft on Tuesday night. Next month, the final fighter with all of India's particular improvements is anticipated to be delivered.
