Six persons have been arrested in connection with the death of Bajrang Dal leader Harsha in Shivamogga, but others remain at large, according to a senior police officer on Tuesday, February 22, as sporadic arson and violent events were recorded in the city. Harsha, a 28-year-old woman, was stabbed to death on Sunday night, prompting the city to impose a prohibitory order despite burning, violence, and stone pelting. The curfew has been extended till Friday by the district administration. On Tuesday, District Commissioner Dr. Selvamani announced that a decision will be made in this regard on Friday morning. In schools and colleges, a holiday has been proclaimed.
"In connection with the case, we have detained Mohammed Kashif, Syed Nadeem, Ashifullah Khan, Rehan Khan, Nehal, and Abdul Afnan. Except for Kashif, who is 32, they are all between the ages of 20 and 22. They are all Shivamogga residents "BM Lakshmi Prasad, Superintendent of Police, told reporters.
