Several celebrities, including Priyanka Chopra Jonas, have reacted to the terrible developments in Ukraine as the crisis continues. The 'Barfi' actress termed Russia's invasion on Ukraine "a tragic time" on her Instagram Stories yesterday.

"The scenario happening in Ukraine is scary," the 39-year-old actress tweeted with a video of thousands of people stranded as the crisis grows. Innocent individuals living in fear for their own and their loved ones' lives while attempting to manage the uncertainty of the near future."

She went on to say that it's tough to grasp how "something could develop to such a tragic point" in the modern society. However, the actress noted that this is a pivotal time that will have global ramifications.

"In this battle zone, there are innocent lives." "They're just like you and me," said the actress.

The 'Dostana' singer also posted an Instagram Story about the Ukraine issue, including a link to a UNICEF donation website for Ukrainian children. Chopra Jonas, a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, also uploaded a video of newly born children being moved from hospital to makeshift facilities as the war-torn country tries to deal with Russia's bombardment.

After filmmakers Onir, Rahul Dholakia, and actor Tillotama Shome criticised Russia's special military action, which President Vladimir Putin said was intended to protect people, Chopra Jonas is the latest Hindi film celebrity to express sympathy with Ukraine.

On Thursday, Russian troops launched their anticipated onslaught on Ukraine, defying international criticism and sanctions and warning other countries that any attempt to intervene would result in "unprecedented" repercussions.

In Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa, large explosions were heard before daybreak.
