Prime Minister Modi urged BJP MPs to dedicate themselves to 'seva' as the party embarks on a "samajik nyay pakhwada" from April 7. The Prime Minister on Tuesday also laid down a detailed programme for MPs for every day during the 14-day long exercise.

Speaking at the BJP parliamentary meeting a day ahead of the party's foundation day, the PM cited a slew of welfare schemes of the government targeting various segments of society and asked MPs to reach out to people with their details.

 

BJP's rise in the northeast, was also underlined in the meeting with the first woman MP from Nagaland, who was elected recently, attending the meeting.Sources stated that BJP president J P Nadda noted the party had achieved the historical feat of having 100 MPs in Rajya Sabha for the very first time.

Parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi told the media that Modi asked the MPs to enthusiastically participate in the programmes. "They should dedicate themselves to service," he quoted him as saying. The Prime Minister also urged parliamentarians to work to clean up and revive ponds and water bodies in their regions during the ongoing 'azadi ka amrit mahotsav.' MPs were also given orange caps carrying the party's name or the lotus symbol. Some MPs were also seen sporting caps having a photo of Modi.

Party MPs along with other members will be highlighting the impact of the health insurance programme 'Jan Aushadhi Kendra', and 'Ayushman Bharat' where medicines are sold at a subsidised rate, on April 7. He said that the schemes to build houses for the poor and bring piped water to each and every household will be at the centre of the campaign on April 8 and April 9.The birth anniversary of renowned social activist Jyotirao Phule and B R Ambedkar on April 9 and April 14, respectively will also be observed in a huge way by the party.

Joshi added that BJP members should also highlight the Covid-19 vaccination programme on April 12. Modi asked the MPs to visit educational instituitions to motivate students to get vaccinated. BJP workers will also be dedicating one day each to highlight and spread awareness about the ongoing free grain scheme, reach out to SC/STs, contact unorganised sector workers, and highlight financial inclusion schemes as well as nutrition programmes.
