Ms Kirron Kher reviews Chandigarh Smart City Projects
Expresses satisfaction at the progress of projects
Chandigarh, August 25, 2022: A review meeting of the Chandigarh Smart City Advisory Forum was held under the chairpersonship of Member of Parliament, Smt. Kirron Kher. She reviewed the status and progress of all the projects being carried out by Chandigarh Smart City Limited.
The MP reviewed the progress of all the projects and appreciated work being done by Chandigarh Smart City Ltd.
CEO Smart City, Ms Anindita Mitra IAS, briefed the Chairperson about all the projects. She said that exposure visits for students from various schools and colleges have been organized in ICCC in accordance with the directions of Hon’ble MP in the previous meeting.
The Member of Parliament expressed concern about the huge mountain of garbage in Daddumajra but expressed satisfaction on being informed that the tender for bioremediation of the second dump had been finalised and the first site shall be clear by December 2022.
The Member of Parliament raised queries about the quality of water after upgradation of STPs to which CGM Mr N P Sharma responded that the BOD shall be 5 and there shall be no stench.
Regarding the 24*7 Water supply project, Ms Kher said that this project was very close to her heart and she had raised the issue in the Parliament. She congratulated the team of Smart City Ltd for having received all clearances.
The meeting was attended by Sabrjit Kaur, Mayor, Chandigarh, Anindita Mitra, Chief Executive Officer, CSCL, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Engineer, Chandigarh, Chief Architect, Chandigarh and Additional CEO, Chief Engineer MCC and other officers attended the meeting.
