India Post on an avg. annually opens 33 lakh Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts. In last 8 years total 2.7 crores accounts have been opened. 

A special awareness drive was initiated (1st Feb to 8th Feb) by India post with an aim to open 7.5 Lakh Sukanya Samriddhi Account to commemorate AKAM and beginning of Amrit Kaal.  

As a result in two days (9th & 10 Feb), total 10,90,000 Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts were opened at more than 1 Lakh Post offices across India.
