Chandigarh, March 2: Bread, Clothes and Shelter are the basic needs of every person, the state government under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann is making every possible efforts to fulfill the basic needs of the common man.These words were expressed by Cabinet Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar on the occasion of handing over 51 houses to needy beneficiaries under Basera Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana of Punjab Government at the local Oriya Colony. On this occasion, MLA of Bathinda City. Jagrup Singh Gill, MLA from Maur constituency. Sukhvir Singh Maisarkhana, Chairman of District Planning Committee Mr. Amrit Lal Aggarwal, State President of Trade Wing Mr. Anil Thakur, Chairman Punjab Medium Industries Development Board Mr. Neel Garg, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Shaukat Ahmed Pare, District Police Chief Mr. Gulneet Singh Khurana, Chairman of Dwarka Das Trust Mr. Rajinder Mittal were specially present.

Speaking on this occasion, Cabinet Minister Dr. Nijjar said that revolutionary efforts are being made by the state government elected by the common people for health, education and public welfare schemes for every class. Appreciating this unique initiative taken by the district administration and Dwarka Das Charitable Trust to help the poor and needy people, he said that these houses will help the needy people to lead a good life. He said that Bathinda will be the first such modern city in the country, from which other cities will also have to learn from.

Cabinet Minister Nijjar said that 189 families out of the ownership rights given to 192 residents under the Basera scheme of the Punjab government in this colony have been found eligible under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Shahri Yojana and the remaining families will also be given houses within one year.

He said that all the infrastructure like sewerage, water supply, lights, footpath etc. have been provided in the colony and schools for children's education and Aam Aadmi Clinic for health facilities will also be opened soon. He appealed to the people living here to educate their children as much as possible because they can end poverty only through education.

After that, at the District Administration Complex, he launched the online advertisement portal policy by the Municipal Corporation and while praising this unique initiative of the state, said that this policy will be implemented in other cities of the state as well.

Earlier, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Mr. Rahul shared detailed information regarding the online advertisement portal, at the same time, he was informed about the other works being done by the corporation in addition to cleanliness, door to door garbage collection in the city.

Meanwhile, during the meeting held by the Cabinet Minister Dr. Nijjar with the officials of various departments regarding the development works, he congratulated them while appreciating the unique and revolutionary efforts being made by the district administration and the municipal corporation. He also ordered the authorities to make proper arrangements in view of the problem of traffic, stray animals, to strictly stop the use of pressure horns in the city and to take strict action against all kinds of illegal constructions.

Meanwhile, while talking to the media, Cabinet Minister Dr. Nijjar said in response to a question that the budget presented by the state government will be presented keeping in mind the facilities and needs of the common people. In response to another question, he said that the government is bringing a new plan under which there will be no need to prepare a map from outside for a place less than 500 yards and get it passed. Before this, Bathinda City MLA S. Jagrup Singh Gill, while shedding light on the various works being done for the beauty and development of Bathinda city, said that a 3 km long park with modern facilities and greenery is being built along with the local canal. Similarly, flowering plants will also be planted on the main roads entering the city and to increase the beauty of the city.
