Chandigarh, April 30:- Smt. Kirron Kher, Member Parliament, Chandigarh today laid down the foundation stone of providing internal streets with paver blocks and construction of phirni road at village Behlana in the presence of Sh. Anup Gupta, Mayor, Sh. Gurcharanjit Singh, area councillor, other prominent persons of the area.
While addressing the gathering, the Member Parliament said that keeping up their promise to promote development of villages, the MCC has started the work of paver blocks on internal streets and construction of phirni road at village Bhelana at the cost of Rs 42 lacs and Rs. 75 lacs respectively.
She said that the work of strengthening of existing sewerage network and strengthening of existing storm water network has almost been completed at the cost of Rs 1.62 crores and Rs. 1.17 crores in this village.
The Mayor said that the 13 villages were transferred to MCC in the year 2018 and Municipal Corporation has taken up the work of laying sewer, storm and water supply in these villages at the cost of Rs. 50 crores which are near completion . He said that the roads will be constructed and repaired at cost of Rs. 17 crores in these villages.
He said that it is pertinent to mention here that the Municipal Corporation has also got these villages included in the prestigious 24*7 water supply project of the city so that these villages also get uninterrupted water supply round the clock for which the work is expected to started this year.
