Disclosing this, Punjab Governance Reforms and Public Grievances Minister Mr. Aman Arora said that this service has been started Today. The elimination of the paper receipt system would further significantly reduce the carbon footprints at Sewa Kendras and will also contribute to a sustainable future. Applicants will no longer have to worry about misplacing or losing paper receipts as now they can easily access their payment receipts through SMS, he added.

The Governance Reforms Minister said that the digital receipts would carry all the information being found on the normal paper receipts, but if any applicant insisted on paper receipt it would be provided to him duly stamped and signed with no extra cost. He also urged the citizens to be a part of this environment friendly initiative of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government by not asking for paper receipts.

Divulging further, Mr. Aman Arora said that the office copy of the receipt would be printed on backside of the first page of the application form only and would be duly signed and stamped by the operator at Sewa Kendras. He said that in the present digital world, the digital receipt has already proven to be a popular alternative among masses as they are much easier to store and access when needed. The paperless fee receipt system would also save time for both the service provider and the user as it would cut off the printing time at the service counters of the Sewa Kendras, said Mr Aman Arora while adding that it would also save the printing cost of approx Rs 80 lakh per annum.

Meanwhile, Director DGR Mr. Girish Dayalan informed that this system has been designed and developed by in-house team of DGR that includes Priyank Sharma, Suhwinder Singh and Robin.
