Says, instead of one particular channel, all channels should have the right to telecast 'sarb sanjhi Gurbani'!
How can any one channel have all exclusive rights to propagate 'sarb sanjhi Gurbani', asks Harchand Singh Barsat
Chandigarh, May 22: On the matter of telecasting of Gurbani from Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar, General Secretary of AAP Punjab Harchand Singh Barsat has appealed to the Shiromani Committee that the message of Gurbani is for the welfare of the entire humanity and instead of giving rights to telecast to any one particular channel, all channels should be allowed to propagate it.
Barsat, in his statement, said, "The Gurbani of the holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib is 'sarb sanjhi' (common for all humanity) and the devotees always want to hear the Gurbani Kirtan from Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar. Therefore, it is our common duty to convey the teachings of the Holy Gurbani to the people living in the country and the world."
Barsat said that there was a time when the Shiromani Akali Dal itself demanded that a transmitter be installed at Harmandir Sahib for the propagation of Gurbani. Be it the resolution of Anandpur Sahib or the Dharma Yudh Morcha, the demand of spreading the teachings of Gurbani to the world level has always been raised by Akali Dal and Punjabis. But unfortunately, today when there is that opportunity, the Shiromani Committee has reserved the right to telecast Gurbani to only one channel, which is wrong.
In his statement, Barsat explained about the order of Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib last year and the announcement made by the Shiromani Committee on the issue of Gurbani telecasting. He said that the time has come, the Shiromani Committee should not limit the rights of broadcasting Gurbani from Sri Darbar Sahib to a specific person or channel. In order to propagate the teachings of the holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji around the globe, all channels and radio stations should be allowed to broadcast it.
