Forest & Wildlife Preservation Minister meets representatives of Janglat Workers Union

Chandigarh: June 23, 2023: (Kartika Singh/Arth Parkash):: 

The Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stands fully committed to carrying out the twin objectives of ensuring the welfare of Forest workers besides initiating novel measures to protect the environment to increase the green cover throughout Punjab. 

This was disclosed at Forest Complex in Sector 68 by the Forest and Wildlife Preservation Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak while chairing a meeting with the representatives of the Janglat Workers Union, Punjab. 

Reiterating his commitment to ensuring well being of the Forest workers, the Minister said that the salaries of the workers are being paid on time and also assured to consider the demand for payment of arrears besides finalizing the seniority list, with sympathy.

Listing out the development-centric measures, Lal Chand Kataruchak divulged that the Punjab State Forest Development Corporation is undertaking the task of erecting fencing poles, and tree guards for protecting trees and vermicomposting for saving the environment. 

On the occasion, Financial Commissioner (Forests) Vikas Garg, PCCF R.K. Mishra and Chairman Punjab State Forest Development Corporation Rakesh Puri were also present.
