Chandigarh: 22 June 2023: (Kartika Singh/Arth Parkash):: Keeping the tradition alive, the PGI cricket league (2022-23), organized jointly by ABMS and PGI Security Dept. has come to its cracking end with an entertaining final match between the Team Engineering (PGI) and Team Advanced Eye Centre (AEC). Prof. Vipin Koushal, Medical Superintendent, PGIMER, inaugurated the final match and wished good luck to the players from both teams.
Batting first, team Engineering posted a fighting total of 169 losing 8 wickets weighing on a blistering quickfire by Mr. Vijay (95 from 49 balls). In reply, team AEC fell short of the target by 21 runs losing 6 wickets. Mr. Manoj was the best batsman from team AEC, scoring 70 runs from 56 balls. Mr. Ravi Dixit from the team Avengers was awarded the Man of the Series title for his all-around performance throughout the tournament.
In total, 15 teams from different departments of the Institute participated in the tournament which lasted for more than 6 months. In the end, Mr. Ajay Patial from ABMS and Mr. Mohan Tiwari from the security department thanked all the participants and congratulated the winners
