Data reveals that in the past 24 hours until noon on Sunday, Uttar Pradesh recorded an average rainfall of 1.3 cm, which is 56 percent higher than normal and classified as "excess" rainfall.

The districts in western Uttar Pradesh, adjoining Delhi and Uttarakhand, particularly the Meerut zone, received higher rainfall compared to the central and eastern parts of the state. The heavy rains were accompanied by cloudy skies. The continuous downpour has resulted in a rise in water levels in major rivers flowing through the state, including the Ganga, Ramganga, Yamuna, and Rapti, as reported by the IMD.

The heavy rains have caused waterlogging in several areas of the state capital, Lucknow, leading to traffic congestion and inconvenience for commuters. Authorities are working to address the situation and minimize the impact on daily life.

The recent events highlight the need for preparedness and efficient disaster management strategies to mitigate the effects of such heavy rainfall. The government, along with relevant departments and local authorities, is focused on providing relief measures and support to affected communities.

Efforts are being made to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens while monitoring the water levels in rivers and implementing preventive measures to safeguard vulnerable areas from further damage.

The state of Uttar Pradesh and its residents are facing the challenges posed by the heavy rains and the subsequent floods. Prompt action, coordination among authorities, and community support are essential in tackling the situation and minimizing its impact on lives and infrastructure.
