Uttar Pradesh Government Accelerates Efforts to Promote Kannauj's Perfume Industry Globally
The Uttar Pradesh government has launched an ambitious plan to position Kannauj as a prominent perfume tourism destination while expanding the reach of Kannauj's fragrances in the international market. Aiming to transform the existing Rs. 250 crore perfume business into a staggering Rs. 25,000 crore industry, the state government envisions leveraging the perfume sector to contribute significantly to the goal of making Uttar Pradesh a $1 trillion economy.
To kickstart these initiatives, the government will organize an international perfume fair in Kannauj in December, attracting global participants and buyers. Furthermore, the ongoing establishment of the perfume park in Kannauj is progressing rapidly, with the completion of the first phase slated for November 15.
To facilitate the export of perfumes, the state government has introduced modifications to the export policy, making it more convenient for traders to enhance their perfume exports. As an added support measure, the government has announced its willingness to cover the expenses of travel and sample transportation for perfume business traders participating in international fairs.
The fragrances of Kannauj, known for their distinctiveness and quality, are recognized as part of the esteemed 'One District, One Product' initiative. With increasing demand in the international market, this venture will not only boost the perfume industry but also contribute to the economic growth and development of Uttar Pradesh. The state government's comprehensive efforts seek to establish Kannauj as a global hub for perfume production and trade, promoting its rich heritage and creating opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship in the region.
