Suspect Apprehended for Providing Shelter

The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has achieved a significant breakthrough in the investigation into the Al-Sufa terror outfit. Abdul Kadir, aged 40, was arrested from Gondia for allegedly offering shelter to two previously arrested individuals connected to the case. Kadir has been remanded in ATS custody for further interrogation.

Terror Activities Planned by Al-Sufa

The investigation took a major turn when the Pune police arrested two suspects, Mohammed Imran alias Mohammed Yunus Khan and Mohammed Yunus Mohammed Yakub Saki, who were initially wanted for a bike theft case. It was later discovered that they were associated with the Al-Sufa terror group based in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh. The ATS found explosives, drone-related equipment, laptops, and incriminating Arabic books during the arrests. The ATS suspects that the accused were planning terror attacks using motorcycles.

Targeting BJP Leaders and RSS Members

The NIA's involvement in the case highlights the terror conspiracy's seriousness, which aimed at targeting BJP leaders and RSS members. The investigation led to the discovery of Indian Mujahideen leaders in Karachi playing a role in the conspiracy. Heightened vigilance and cooperation between intelligence agencies have proven vital in countering terrorism in the region.

Unwavering Efforts to Combat Terrorism

The recent developments in the Al-Sufa terror outfit case underscore the crucial role of the Maharashtra ATS and other law enforcement agencies in safeguarding national security.

The apprehension of key suspects and the recovery of incriminating materials have shed light on the intricate plans of the terror group. The collaboration between different agencies, such as the ATS and NIA, is pivotal in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and protect the safety of citizens and leaders.
