Chandigarh's GST Collection Witnesses Steady Growth

Chandigarh's Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection has shown a consistent growth trend over the past few months. In July, the city recorded a GST collection of Rs 217 crore, marking a remarkable 23 per cent increase compared to the corresponding month last year. Furthermore, the GST collection for June also saw substantial growth, reaching Rs 227.06 crore, representing a 34 per cent increase compared to June 2022. May's collection, at Rs 259 crore, stood out as the highest-ever monthly collection for Chandigarh since the introduction of GST, showcasing the city's economic prowess and effective tax administration.
