A grim incident unfolded in the wee hours on Thursday in Uttarakhand's Uddham Singh Nagar district, as a couple was discovered dead at their residence in Rudrapur. The horrifying crime also left an elderly woman injured. Police swiftly sprung into action, identifying the alleged perpetrator and forming multiple teams to apprehend him. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community and reignited concerns over safety and security.

The Gruesome Incident

In the quietude of the early morning, a man stealthily entered the couple's home and committed a heinous act, slitting the throats of Sanjiv Yadav, 38, and his wife Sonali, 35, while they were asleep. The couple's daughter, sleeping alongside them, awoke to the horrifying screams of her mother. Witnessing the attacker, she bravely fled the scene, raising an alarm that alerted other family members.

Sonali's mother, Gauri Mandal, and her 16-year-old son Jay, startled by the commotion, rushed to intervene and apprehend the assailant. In a courageous act to protect their loved ones, they attempted to subdue the attacker. However, the perpetrator ruthlessly attacked them, leaving Gauri with severe injuries. The assailant then managed to escape, leaving behind a scene of horror and devastation.

Police Investigation and Efforts to Apprehend the Accused:

The senior superintendent of police (SSP), Manjunath TC, confirmed that the accused has already been identified, and a dedicated team has been mobilized to capture him. Six teams have been strategically dispatched, combing possible hide-outs in Uttar Pradesh (UP) and analyzing CCTV camera footage to track the perpetrator's movements. Law enforcement authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the accused faces justice for the heinous crime committed.
