Disturbing footage of the incident surfaced on social media, showing bystanders pleading with the tractor-trolley driver to stop, but their pleas went unheeded.

Police Injuries and Protester Actions:

In the heat of the confrontation, at least five policemen sustained injuries. An inspector narrowly avoided being crushed by a tractor-trolley but suffered severe injuries. Another officer was injured in the face, while three more policemen suffered various degrees of harm. The clash further intensified as some protesters reportedly used sticks against the police.

Farmers' Protest and Detentions:

The farmers were protesting a day before a planned demonstration in Chandigarh, organized by 16 farm bodies, including the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee and Bharti Kisan Union, among others. They were demanding compensation for losses incurred due to floods.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that several farm leaders, including Sarwan Singh Pandher, the president of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, and other prominent figures, had been "detained" by the Punjab Police. Allegations surfaced that police had conducted raids at the residences of these leaders.
