US President Joe Biden is set to embark on a visit to India next week, where he will participate in the G20 Summit and hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The White House has officially announced this significant diplomatic engagement.
India, currently presiding over the G20, will host leaders from around the world during the Summit, which is scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10 in New Delhi. During the Summit, President Biden will commend Prime Minister Modi for his leadership within the G20.
On September 7, President Biden will travel to New Delhi, India, to attend the G20 Leaders' Summit. The following day, on September 8, he will engage in a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Modi. Over the weekend, September 9 and 10, the G20 Summit will be the focal point of discussions.

At the G20 Summit, President Biden and fellow G20 leaders will address several pressing global issues. These include the transition to clean energy and efforts to combat climate change. Additionally, they will discuss strategies to alleviate the economic and social repercussions of Russian President Vladimir Putin's conflict in Ukraine. The leaders also intend to strengthen multilateral development banks, such as the World Bank, to effectively combat poverty and address global challenges.
During his visit, President Biden will also express the United States' unwavering commitment to the G20 as the premier forum for international economic cooperation. In a notable development, the US is set to host the G20 Summit in 2026, underscoring its commitment to fostering global collaboration.

The G20, known as the Group of 20, serves as an intergovernmental forum comprising major developed and developing economies worldwide. Its members collectively represent approximately 85% of the global GDP, over 75% of global trade, and roughly two-thirds of the global population.
Following his participation in the G20 Summit in New Delhi, President Biden will travel to Hanoi, Vietnam, on September 10. During his time in Hanoi, he will meet with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other key leaders to explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation between the United States and Vietnam. Discussions will encompass areas such as technology-driven economic growth, educational exchanges, climate change mitigation, and regional stability.
This visit signifies the importance of international diplomacy and cooperation in addressing global challenges and fostering bilateral relations between the United States and these two Asian nations, India and Vietnam.
