On Teachers' Day 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a heartwarming interaction with the distinguished winners of the National Teacher Award 2023. This gathering, which occurred at his residence on Lok Kalyan Marg, was a moment to honor the significant contributions made by these educators in shaping the minds of the nation's youth.

Distinguished attendees

The event was graced by the presence of Union Minister of State for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, as well as Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, among others.

75 outstanding educators recognized

This year, a remarkable total of 75 teachers from across the country have been chosen for the prestigious National Teacher Award. These exceptional educators will be formally recognized and conferred with the award by President Draupadi Murmu on September 5 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Each recipient will receive a certificate of merit, a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, and a silver medal. The event will be orchestrated by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education.

Diverse awardee categories

The impressive roster of National Teacher Award winners encompasses 50 school teachers, 13 teachers from higher education institutions, and 12 educators from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. This diversity underscores the far-reaching impact of teachers at various educational levels.
