Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concluded his "short but very productive visit" to Jakarta, Indonesia, where he participated in significant events, including the ASEAN-India Summit and the East Asia Summit (EAS). The Secretary (East) of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Saurabh Kumar, expressed the successful outcome of this visit, emphasizing the forging of stronger partnerships with ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and EAS partners.
During his visit, PM Modi highlighted the importance of amplifying the voice of the Global South, including within the G20 framework. This focus on representing the interests and perspectives of nations from the Global South in international forums was a key element of his discussions.

ASEAN leaders warmly welcomed PM Modi's leadership within the G20 and extended their best wishes. Additionally, they congratulated India on the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission, showcasing the spirit of cooperation and shared achievements.
Prime Minister Modi engaged in extensive discussions with leaders from ASEAN and EAS nations. These discussions spanned multiple domains, including connectivity, maritime cooperation, digital transformation, trade and the economy, environment, health, and traditional medicine. PM Modi presented specific proposals in each of these areas, encapsulated in a comprehensive twelve-point proposal. These proposals serve as a roadmap for enhancing cooperation and partnership in various sectors.
